Super Transformer ABY Switcher: ABY switch with active galvanic isolation

Inspired by our Super Transformer active direct box with active galvanic isolation, we have developed the Super Transformer ABY switch. It allows switching between two outputs (A | B) or having both outputs active at the same time (Y) while eliminating ground loop induced hum and buzz in stereo rigs or signal splitting applications. Low noise electronic switching combined with our novel high fidelity Super Transformer output stage ensures high fidelity performance, durability and ease of use.
Each output incorporates our novel Super Transformer architecture that uses an actively equalized transformer with mixed feedback to provide a wide frequency response and ultra low distortion over the entire frequency range, unlike simpler transformer-only designs that often have increasing distortion at low frequencies.
A high input impedance and low output impedance mean that the Super Transformer ABY is suitable for a wide range of uses, including:
Amp switching: Connect each output (A, B) to an amplifier and switch between them or have them both active at the same time.
Recording a clean signal for re-amping: Connect one output to your rig for recording (using a mic or similar). Connect the other output to your mixer or audio interface. Run in “Y” so you can record both your amp and a clean signal that can later be re-amped.
General purpose splitting: Connect any device that will drive a high impedance input and select the Y switch to split the signal and drive two outputs.
On-Off switching: Conveniently switch On or Off an output signal using a momentary footswitch.
Features:
Active galvanic isolation offers ultra low distortion across all frequencies and wide frequency response
Extended dynamic range (via an internally boosted power supply)
Low noise electronic switching
High quality switches, jacks and potentiometers
Powered by an external 9V PSU input
Unbalanced isolated or balanced isolated outputs (selected via internal switches)
Rugged 1590B aluminum enclosure
Controls:
Momentary A | B footswitch: Selects whether the A or B output is active.
Momentary Y footswitch: Selects whether an individual output (A | B) or both outputs (Y) are active.
Balanced switch (internal): One switch per output (A and B). Sets the transformer based output to be unbalanced isolated or balanced isolated.
Output impedance switch (internal): Set in the “Hi” position when connecting to a guitar amplifier or other high input impedance device; set in the “Lo” position when connected to a low input impedance device like a mixer. (An internal 10k ohm load is disconnected when the switch is in the “Lo” position.)
The Super Transformer ABY Switcher has been carefully tuned to deliver low noise, high fidelity, flexibility and ruggedness.
