Inspired by our Super Transformer active direct box with active galvanic isolation, we have developed the Super Transformer Dual Isolator. It incorporates two channels that kill ground loop induced hum and buzz in stereo rigs and related applications.

Each output incorporates our novel Super Transformer architecture that uses an actively equalized transformer with mixed feedback to provide a wide frequency response and ultra low distortion over the entire frequency range, unlike simpler transformer-only designs that often have increasing distortion at low frequencies.

A high input impedance and low output impedance mean that the Super Transformer Dual Isolator is suitable for a wide range of uses, including:

  • Pedal board isolation: connect between your stereo pedal board and amp to eliminate ground loops and hum; two separate isolated outputs provide the ultimate in true galvanic isolation.

  • Direct box into a mixer: connect a stereo device (with a high impedance output) directly to the line input of a mixer.

Controls:

  • Balanced switch (internal): One switch per output (A and B). Sets the transformer based output to be unbalanced isolated or balanced isolated.

  • Output impedance switch (internal): Set in the “Hi” position when connecting to a guitar amplifier or other high input impedance device; set in the “Lo” position when connected to a low input impedance device like a mixer. (An internal 10k ohm load is disconnected when the switch is in the “Lo” position.)

The Super Transformer Dual Isolator has been carefully tuned to deliver low noise, high fidelity, flexibility and ruggedness.
