The Audiofab Valve Warper is a fully discrete overdrive designed to deliver rich, tube-like breakup, exceptional touch response, and a wide sweep of usable gain—from subtle warmth to saturated fuzz-like distortion.

Inspired by a rare early-2000s boutique circuit that itself evolved from classic DIY designs, the Valve Warper captures the character that made those pedals so sought after while refining the design for modern players. The result is a versatile overdrive that sits somewhere between the harmonic richness of a Tone Bender-style circuit and the smooth, musical response of a Tube Screamer.

We’ve carefully optimized the circuit to improve responsiveness, noise performance, and tonal balance. The discrete Class-A transistor architecture delivers a dynamic feel that reacts naturally to your picking and guitar volume control.

A three-position Cut switch adds additional tonal flexibility by introducing two levels of treble roll-off. This allows the Valve Warper to move from open and articulate to thicker, more scooped textures—making it easy to match different guitars, amps, and playing styles.

Set with low drive, the Valve Warper excels as a tone enhancer or clean boost that pushes an amp into natural overdrive. Turn the Drive control up and it transitions smoothly into thicker distortion and sustaining fuzz, with a gradual gain sweep that makes it easy to dial in exactly the right amount of grit.

Whether used as an always-on tone shaper or as a primary gain stage, the Valve Warper is designed to become part of your core sound rather than just another occasional effect.

Controls:

  • Level: Adjusts the output level (and can provide a massive boost)

  • Cut: A three-position switch offering no treble cut or two levels of treble cut
